As a fashionista, you know you have found the perfect place to stay during your weekend getaway when a Nordstrom Rack is practically attached to your building, amirite? My husband and I take the 6 hour road trip to Minneapolis a few times a year, stopping in beautiful Grand Marais and equally as beautiful Canal Park in Duluth, MN. So when the Radisson Blu Downtown Minneapolis was available for our spontaneous, short but sweet 2 night stay, we jumped at the opportunity! I put together a list of my Top 6 favorite thing’s about the Radisson Blu!
Events Radisson Blu Downtown Minneapolis is perfect for event goers with it’s location within walking distance of all the main event center’s! Convenient direct access to the Minneapolis Skyway system, and being step’s away from Target Field, the theaters of Hennepin Avenue, Target Center and U.S. Bank Stadium, makes Radisson Blu your perfect all season destination. You’ll be able to explore all the city has to offer no matter the weather!
Shopping No Minneapolis trip is complete without a little ( okay, who am I kidding, a lot **) of shopping. I mean when you live in Canada, Target is practically a trip destination all on it’s own. Stay in the area and shop Nicolette Mall with stores like Nordstrom Rack, Saks OFF 5TH, Marshalls, Banana Republic and Target all within walking distance, or hop on the light rail to experience Mall of America. Nearby Transportation Traveling in and around the Twin Cities is effortless with on-site self-parking and valet parking and a convenient location just 12 miles from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP). If you don’t feel like driving, the Nicollet Mall and the 5th Street light rail train station are only two blocks away.
Concierge When you stay at the Radisson Blu in downtown Minneapolis, you receive access to knowledgeable concierge staff, who can share their expertise of the city with you. During our stay I had the pleasure of meeting Scott, and his friendly and outgoing demeanor along with his knowledge of the city and surrounding area made our trip that much better. He seriously knows everything! Concierge can assist you with purchasing tickets to hit performances on Hennepin Avenue, reserving a spa treatment or getting reservations to a trendy new restaurant! This adds a level of comfort to your stay that’s priceless and will allow your trip to be stress free! you’ll never have to worry about a thing!
Dining While the concierge may be able to get you a reservation at a restaurant in the area, they may not need to! Directly on site is the hotel restaurant Firelake Grill House and Cocktail Bar. I could go on and on about just the atmosphere, design and décor alone but you probably want to know about the food. From the aroma of hickory-smoked meat to the warm and inviting atmosphere, everything at FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar is designed to give you an unforgettable experience while you’re staying at the Radisson Blu Minneapolis Downtown. Fall in love with the farm-to-table dishes prepared by Chef Keven Kvalsten, who focuses on Midwestern flavors to ensure a tasty and hearty meal for every guest. You can watch your dinner being created before your eyes at a table beside the open show kitchen, or you can savor a meal in the privacy of your guest room with room service, available for breakfast and dinner.
Amenities The Radisson Blu Downtown Minneapolis does not disappoint when it comes to amenities and services. Concierge services, free Wi-Fi, valet and self parking, business class lounge that offers breakfast and happy hour, pet friendly, Grab&Run breakfast, coffee and tea for those early mornings, and express checkout, are just a few of the priceless services they offer to make your stay that much better! Our favorite was the hotel’s newest service. The Radisson now offers the ability to cast any streaming service from your device to the TV, ( so that means your own Netflix!) view hotel information, and rent movies that haven’t hit the theaters yet! Our first night we took full advantage and ordered every dessert from the room service menu ( see photo of my spread here ) and caught up on the new season of Stranger Things!
